Un-Closed Orders Warning on Log Out

Un-Closed Orders Warning on Log Out

Warning: You have Un-Closed Orders

Touchscreen end users will see this warning message upon exiting the department if there are any un-closed orders for the department. This is not specific to the operator that is signed in, but all users.

The users will have 3 options to choose from:
  • Yes: This will proceed with the logging out process and will bring the user to the terminal login screen. If there is a cash drawer set up on the terminal, the user will next be prompted to balance the drawer.
  • No: This will cancel the logging out process and will bring users back into the Touchscreen. From here, users will need to either close or cancel the order(s).
  • View Un-Closed Orders: This will give a list open orders, featuring the first and last name of the operator who owns the order followed by an order number. Hitting OK will bring the user back to the original warning screen.

How to Close or Cancel Un-closed Orders

After hitting the "No" button on the warning screen and being brought to the main screen:

1. Find un-closed orders by selecting the Select/Start Order button at the bottom.

2. At the Select/Start Order screen, there will a button in the top right corner titled, "Show All Orders". The list that appears will show all un-closed in that department. *Note this may not be enabled for all communities. If so, each individual user will need to close out/cancel their own order(s).

3. Tap on an order to highlight it and hit "Select". This will bring the order up on the touchscreen.

4. If the order needs to be canceled, select the Cancel Order button. This will prompt the user to confirm if they would like to cancel the order. Press Yes to continue. If this order has already been sent to the kitchen you may not want to cancel it if the food has already been prepared. Upon canceling an order with items that have already been requisitioned, the user will be prompted to send the cancelation ticket to the kitchen.

5. If the order was just not closed out, close the order to the form of payment desired.

6. Repeat steps 2-5 to close or cancel the remaining orders on the Select/Start Order screen.

7. Once all un-closed orders have been closed or canceled, the user may exit the terminal and not receive the warning message.
