Sell or Reload a Gift Card

Sell or Reload a Gift Card

The Gift Card module offers communities the option to sell gift cards to their residents as an additional form of payment on FullCount devices. The process for selling and reloading gift cards on the Touchscreen is the same.

*NOTE: The Gift Card module is an optional, paid feature that requires an additional FullCount license. To learn more about Gift Cards, please contact FullCount Support at (800) 289-9636 or email us at Support@FullCount.net.

*NOTE: To activate a gift card from the Back Office, see the instructions HERE.

Sell or Reload a Gift Card

To sell or reload a gift card, follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to the Touchscreen and begin a New Order.

  2. Locate and select the Gift Card item button.

*NOTE: This button may have a different name at each community.

  1. Enter the amount that the customer desires to load onto the gift card, then press the Ok button.  If your community has a fixed gift card amount, the screen will automatically advance past this window.

  1. Register the gift card ID in one of the following ways:
    1. Swipe the gift card using the card reader mounted on your FullCount device.
    2. Manually enter the gift card ID using the screen keypad. If the ID contains letters, press the Show Keyboard button to access these characters. When the full gift card ID is entered, press Ok.

*NOTE: To view the gift card ID, see the section Swipe Card Test below.

*Optional Feature: Link to Customer

The Link to Customer feature allows a resident/customer to pay using a gift card even if the physical card is missing. To link a gift card, the customer must have a Customer Information profile in the Back Office. This feature is simply used to manually search for a gift card from the Touchscreen using the linked customer’s name. A customer is linked to a gift card when it is purchased using the following steps:

  1. If your community uses the Link to Customer feature, the Account Lookup window will appear. Enter the resident’s name in the Account field, then press Search.

  2. Select the resident from the search results.

On the main screen, the gift card will appear as an item added to the order. Add any additional items to the transaction for the customer, then proceed through the normal Close Order process. Once the order is closed, the card will be loaded with the chosen amount and active to use in FullCount.

Run a Swipe Card Test

If you need to manually enter a gift card but do not know the gift card ID, you can run a Swipe Card Test from the FullCount Touchscreen. To find and run the Swipe Card Test, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Touchscreen.

  2. On the main screen, press the Admin button.

  3. Select Swipe Card Test.

  1. Swipe the gift card using the card reader mounted on your FullCount device.

The gift card ID will fill the information field. This ID can be used to sell or reload the gift card.

  1. When you have noted the gift card ID, choose one of the following options:
    1. Press Test Another Card to clear the information field
    2. Press Exit to return to the main screen
