Set Up Item Countdown from the Touchscreen
To set a countdown on an item from the Touchscreen:
- Select the Admin button at the bottom of the Touchscreen.
- Click the Item Countdown Maintenance button.

- Enter all or part of the desired item’s name, then click Search.
- Select the item from the search results.
*NOTE: If only one item matches your search criteria, it will be selected automatically.

- Choose the Enabled option button beside the Use Item Countdown field.
- Select a Reset Rule for this item’s countdown.
- Never – This option will count the item quantity
down to (and then remain at) zero until the number is manually reset
from the Back Office or Touchscreen.
- Disable at End of Day – If this option is chosen,
all countdown values and warnings will turn off at the end of the day,
and the item will function as normal moving forward.
- Daily – This option will reset the item countdown every day to the daily reset quantity value below.
- Click the Change button beside the Warn When
Remaining Quantity Is field to set the number limit at which point
servers will be shown the amount of remaining servings/units for this
item.
- Enter the desired amount, then click Ok.
- Click the Change button beside the Current Quantity Is field to set the number of servings/units currently available for customers to order. Repeat step 8 to complete.
- If the reset rule above is set to Daily, click the Change button beside the Daily Reset Value Is field to set the default countdown number for the start of each day. Repeat step 8 to complete.
*NOTE: A daily reset value can be entered even if the reset rule is not set to Daily, but the entered value will do nothing.

- Press Save when the correct fields have been completed.
The item countdown is now active. Servers will be prompted
with a warning when the remaining quantity limit is reached. See the
section below to view examples of these warnings.
When an item countdown hits the warning limit, the item button will
turn yellow on the Touchscreen. Servers who then select the item will
begin receiving the Warning below.
When the item countdown reaches zero, the item button will turn red. Servers who select the item will receive the Alert
below. They should immediately check to see if the item has truly run
out. If the item is still available, servers will always be able to
select Yes to add the item to an order. If the item is no longer available, click No to return to the menu.
