Set a Default Modifier on an Item

Some items have a modifier option(s) that will be chosen by most customers. These modifiers can be set as a Default Modifier from the Back Office. When the modifier group appears after the item has been chosen, a default modifier will be automatically selected on the Touchscreen. To set a default modifier on an item, follow the instructions below:

*NOTE: This article assumes the modifier group has already been added to the item.
 

  1. Select the Admin Center button.
     
  2. Select on the Item Management tab.
     
  3. If not selected by default, choose the Items subtab.
     
  4. Search for the desired item and click the Details button to its left.
     


  1. Under Item Modifier Groups, click the Options icon beside the desired modifier group.
     
  2. Click Add.
     
  3. From the drop-down menu, select a Modifier to set as a default.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 6-7 to add any additional default modifiers for this group.
 


 

  1. Click Save and Close on the Default Modifiers window.
     
  2. Click Save and Close on the Edit Items page.
The default modifier(s) will now be automatically selected when the item is selected from the Touchscreen. Default modifiers can still be unselected if the customer prefers a different option.
