The tablet's power button (a) is located on the left side of the tablet. To turn on the tablet, press and hold the power button until you feel the haptic feedback. To ensure the tablet is properly turned off, always use the virtual Shut Down button from the login screen within the Touchscreen application.
There are two LED indicators (b) in the bottom left corner of the tablet. The blue LED will remain lit while the tablet is on whether it is plugged in or not. The red LED will remain lit if the tablet is charging whether the tablet is powered on or off. A green LED will appear where the red one is located when the battery is fully charged.
The tablet power jack (c) is located on the side of the tablet underneath a rubber cover. This will use a different charging cable than the one the docking station uses.
The barcode scanner (if equipped) (d) is located on the top of the tablet. The angle of the scanner can be adjusted on a single axis by gently moving it up or down with your finger. There is a barcode trigger (e) on the left side of the tablet as well as a barcode trigger key (f) the back of the tablet that can be used for trigger the scanning.
The magnetic stripe card reader (if equipped) (h) is located on the top of the tablet. This card reader is used for gift cards or employee/customer identification cards; it is not a credit card reader. When swiping a card, place the magnetic strip towards the tablet’s touch screen.
The serial number tag (i) is located on the back of the tablet underneath the external battery (j). (See instructions below on removing the battery.)
A hand strap (k) can be screwed to the back of the tablet to offer security and comfort. The Velcro strap can be adjusted to ensure the best grip for each user.
The battery can be removed and quickly switched with a charged replacement battery. A sleep state will occur automatically when the battery is removed. Additional batteries can be purchased by contacting sales@fullcount.net for a quote.
Turn the screw (l) with your hand counterclockwise until the screw is loose enough to pull the cover (m) off of the tablet along with it. A Pull tab (n) is featured prominently on the battery - pull the tab to remove the battery safely. To insert a new battery, align the battery connector (o) with the corresponding connection on the battery. You will have five minutes to install another battery before the tablet boots down. Reinstall the cover using the screw when finished.
The docking station (p) can be used to prop the tablet up for a more comfortable stationary setup. A wired connection may be leveraged by connecting an ethernet cable to docking station and switching network interfaces (see USB & Ethernet Ports for more information).
The angle of the tablet's cradle (q) can be adjusted gently as well as the arm (r) . The tablet is seated into the docking station by lining up the POGO pins (s) on the bottom of the tablet into the POGO connection (t) on the docking station. To remove the tablet from the docking station, place your hand on the top of the tablet and pull it toward you with easy-moderate force - it should come off relatively easy, do not force the tablet off the docking station. Do not pull the tablet upward off the docking station.
The DC power input (u) is where the docking station's power adapter will be connected. This will be a different power cord than the one the tablet uses.
Several ports are accessible on the back of the docking station. The four USB ports (v) may be needed for tablet re-imaging or to resolve FullCount Support issues. A fifth tablet USB port (g) is located on the left side of the tablet itself. This port can be used for attaching other point-of-sale devices such as a RFID reader or USB keyboard.
*NOTE: The tablet must be mounted to utilize the charging dock’s USB ports.
An Ethernet port (w) is located next to the USB ports. When docked, the tablet can reach the FullCount server through this hardwired connection. The network interface can be switched from wireless to wired by plugging in a USB keyboard and pressing F6 to execute a script with on-screen instructions to follow. If you'd like the wired network interface to be the default interface on boot then please reach out to FullCount Support for assistance.
There are two LED lights on the Ethernet port. The green link light (x) on the left indicates that the dock has a connection to a wired network. The orange activity light (y) on the right blinks to indicate that data is being processed.
