Prerequisites

  • An Epson TM-TV88II printer
  • An Ethernet cord
  • A static IP address to assign to the printer. Along with the network’s subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers.
  • A computer or laptop

*NOTE: The following instructions are for a Windows OS, but a Mac OS can also be used.

In addition, be sure the printer is powered on, has paper, and has ink.

Network Setup

These steps assume the printer is new or still set to the factory default settings. If the printer is not set to the factory defaults, the device will need to be reset.

Verify the Default Settings

To verify the factory default settings, follow the instructions below:

  1. Find the pinhole button near the Ethernet port on the back of the printer.

  2. With the power on and paper loaded into the printer, press and hold the pinhole button for 8-10 seconds to print out a Dynamic Status Sheet.

  1. As soon as the status sheet begins to print, release the pinhole button.

  2. The default factory IP address should read 192.168.192.168.

If the IP address is correct, the printer is ready to be setup. If the IP address is not the factory default, follow the steps in grey to reset the printer.

To reset a TM-TV88II model printer:

  1. Turn the printer power OFF.
  2. Press and hold the pinhole button near the Ethernet port on the back of the printer.
  3. While still holding the pinhole button, turn printer power ON.
  4. When the printer begins to print the Factory Reset confirmation, release the pinhole button.
(DO NOT TURN OFF the printer while the reset is occurring.)
  5. When the reset is finished, the printer will print out a "Reset Complete" slip.

Connect to the Printer

With the IP address set to the default 192.168.192.168, follow the steps below to connect a computer or laptop to the printer:
