Add a Choice List to an Item


Choice Lists are groups of items, such as side options or an alcohol list, that can be attached to another item. After Creating a Choice List, it must be assigned to its parent item before it will appear on the Touchscreen.

Assign a Choice List

To assign a choice list to an item, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Admin Center button.
     
  2. Select the Item Management tab.
     
  3. If it is not selected by default, choose the Items subtab.
     
  4. Locate the desired item and click the Details button to its left.
     


 

  1. Under the Item Choice Lists section, click Add.
     
  2. Select the choice list from the drop-down menu.
     
  3. Set an Effective Start Date to determine when this list will appear on the Touchscreen.
     
  4. Optionally, click the Defaults icon to pre-set a default option.
     
  5. Set a Sort Order for this list.

To set up a rotating choice list, jump to the section below. If this is a static choice list with no rotation, leave the Effective End Date empty and the remaining fields set to their default options.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 5-10 for any additional choice lists.
 


 

  1. Click Save and Close.

The choice list(s) is now linked to the item. When this item is selected on the Touchscreen, the choice list will appear for the server to select the customer's preferences.
 

Set Up a Rotating Choice List

After completing steps 1-9 above, set up a rotating choice list by following the steps below:

  1. Enter an Effective End Date to identify the first rotation period. For single-day rotations, the Effective Start and End Dates will be the same.

*NOTE: The Effective End Date is inclusive, meaning that the choice list will appear on the Touchscreen through the end of this day.

  1. Choose one of the following Repeat Effective Period Rules from the drop-down options:
  • Repeat Every N Days – Choose this option if this list should rotate based on a set number of days.
  • Repeat Every N Weeks – Choose this option if this list should rotate based on a set number of weeks.
  • Repeat Every N Months – Choose this option if this list should rotate based on a set number of months.
  • No Repeat – This default option will only be used for non-rotating choice lists.
  1. Enter a Repeat Effective Period Value. This number will be the N value of the period rule selected above.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 11-13 for any additional rotating choice lists.
 


 

  1. Click Save and Close.

The choice list(s) is now linked to the item and will appear on the Touchscreen on the assigned effective start date. When this item is selected, the choice list will appear for the server to select the customer's preferences.
