Modify a Floor Plan

On occasion, a community will need to adjust a Floor Plan. Most changes to a floor plan, whether small or large, will be made from the Touchscreen application.

Before modifying a floor plan, log into the Touchscreen and locate the floor plan layout using the steps below:

  1. On the main screen, select the Admin button.
     
  2. Select Edit Floor Plan from the administration screen.
     


 

  1. If the current department has more than one floor plan, choose the desired plan from the list. If only one floor plan is available, it will be automatically selected.

From this Table Layout screen, the floor plan can be modified using the instructions below.

 

Change a Table or Shape

Many small modifications involve changing tables or non-table shapes. These objects can be added, removed, or visually altered to better represent their corresponding dining venue.
 

Add a Table

Tables must be created from the Back Office before they can be added to a floor plan. To add an existing table to a floor plans, follow the steps below:

  1. Select an available table from the table list on the left. It will appear in the upper-left corner of the floor plan.
     
  2. Press and drag the table button to the desired location.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 1-2 for any other tables that need to be added.
 


 

  1. If you are finished modifying the floor plan, click Save Changes & Close.
     

Add a Non-Table Shape

Non-Table Shapes clarify or fill out a floor plan. These shapes show un-selectable visible features within a dining venue such as dividers, pillars, or bar counters. A non-table shape must be set up in the Back Office before it can be added on the Touchscreen. To add a non-table shape to a floor plan, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Add Non-Table Shape.
     
  2. Select one of the available options from the list of Table Shapes.
     
  3. Back on the Table Layout, press and drag the table button to the desired location.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 4-6 for any other non-table shapes that need to be added.
 


 

  1. If you are finished modifying the floor plan, click Save Changes & Close.
     

Remove a Table or Shape

To remove a table or non-table shape from a floor plan, follow the steps below:

  1. Press and highlight the desired table or shape on the floor plan.
     
  2. Click Remove Table. This button will also remove a highlighted non-table shape.

*NOTE: Repeat steps 8-9 for any other objects that need to be removed.
 


 

  1. If you are finished modifying the floor plan, click Save Changes & Close.
     

Edit a Table or Shape

The default size, shape, and color of a table or shape is set from the Back Office. However, tables and shapes can be adjusted from the Touchscreen after they have been added to a floor plan. To edit a table or shape from the Touchscreen, follow the steps below:

  1. Press and highlight the desired table or shape on the floor plan.

  2. Click Edit Table. This is used for both tables and non-table shapes.
     

 

  1. Change the object’s basic features using the following fields:
  • Height – Enter a new height for the object.
  • Width – Enter a new width for the object.
  • Rotation – Enter an angle degree to rotate the object.
  • Font – Enter a new size for the object’s text. The default font size is 12.

*NOTE: Use the Clear button to remove the current value of a field.

  1. Select Change Shape to choose a new shape from the available options.
     
  2. Select Change Color to choose a new color from the available options.
     
  3. When finished editing, click Save Table. This is used for both tables and non-table shapes.
     


 

  1. If you are finished modifying the floor plan, click Save Changes & Close.

 

Edit the Floor Plan Settings

The floor plan settings can also be adjusted to better incorporate new tables or non-table shapes. To edit the floor plan settings, follow the steps below:

  1. On the Table Layout screen, select Edit Floor Plan.
     


 

  1. If the floor plan must be re-labelled, change the following description fields:
  • Name – Choose how the floor plan will display on the Touchscreen.
  • Description – Enter any additional information to help differentiate this floor plan. This field does not appear to the server on the Touchscreen.
  1. Adjusting the Sizing Factor will increase or reduce the aspect ratio of all objects added to the floor plan. (Ex. Tables added to a floor plan with a sizing factor of .5 will be %50 smaller. Tables added with a 1.5 sizing factor will be %50 larger.)
     
  2. Change the size of the floor plan using the sliders to adjust the following size fields:
  • Floor Plan Height* – Heights above 550 may require a scroll bar to see the full floor plan.
  • Floor Plan Width* – Widths beyond 800 may require a scroll bar to see the full floor plan.

*NOTE: The height and width can also be typed in using the virtual keyboard.
 


 

  1. When you are finished editing the settings, click Save.

  2. On the Table Layout screen, click Save Changes & Close when you are finished modifying the floor plan.

The floor plan modifications have been saved. The updated floor plan will now appear when a server begins a Dine-In order.
