Create a Custom Field

A Custom Field is a data alert assigned to a customer’s information page in the Back Office. Custom fields display information on the Touchscreen and/or on requisition tickets that may benefit servers or kitchen staff when serving the assigned customer. Warnings such as allergies or reminders such as birthdays are often set up as custom fields. To create a new custom field, follow the steps below:
 

  1. Select the Community button.
     
  2. Choose the Custom Defined Fields tab.
     
  3. Click the New Customer Field button.
     


 

*NOTE: Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.

  1. Enter the custom field’s description information:
  • Name* – Choose how the custom field will be identified in the Back Office and on the Touchscreen.
  • Description – The Description field is for any clarifying notes or additional information about the custom field.
  1. Choose a Data Type* from the following drop-down options:
  • Text – Select this option to add open text fields to individual customers. (ex. allergies, meal prep requirements, common order requests, etc.)
  • Date – Select this option to track important customer dates. (ex. birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
  • Plan Account Balance – Create this option to allow customers’ plan balances to appear on the Touchscreen when certain criteria are met.
  • Charge Account Usage – Create this option to allow customers’ charge account usage to appear on the Touchscreen when certain criteria are met.

*NOTE: Setup for Plan Account Balance and Charge Account Usage data types can only be completed by FullCount team members. If you are creating custom fields for these data types, please contact FullCount Support at (800) 289-9636 or Support@FullCount.net.

  1. Set the custom field’s view options:
  • Required* – Choose whether this field must be added to all new customers.
  • Selected By Default* – Choose whether this field will automatically generate on new customer information pages.
  • Alert* – Choose whether this field’s information should automatically appear to the server when the assigned customer is added to an order.
  • Default Alert Message[For Date data types only] Add text that will appear to the server when the assigned customer is added to an order on the field’s date.
  • Printed on Requisition* – Choose whether this field’s information should display on kitchen requisition tickets.
  1. Choose a Sort Order.
     


 

  1. Click Save and Close.

The new custom field is now created. To use the custom field, it must be Assigned to a Customer in the Back Office.
